Meet this year’s cohort of inventors, discover their novel solutions & the prototypes they have created at the Hackstarter Grand Final 2025.

Hackstarter is an award-winning grant programme giving inventors at Imperial College London the ability to make prototypes of their early-stage concepts. Run by Advanced Hackspace, the scheme enables university students and staff to create physical products using traditional and digital prototyping equipment in a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

From sustainable lab-grown fur to probiotics for managing chronic kidney disease, this year’s innovations offer exciting solutions across diverse fields including fashion, energy storage and human and animal health.
