Agilent and Imperial renew advanced scientific instrument partnership to extend AMS

Frédéric Laget of Agilent Technologies and Professor Mary Ryan celebrate the renewal the Agilent Measurement Suite agreement for another four years.

Agilent Technologies and Imperial College London have renewed their successful advanced scientific instrument partnership for a further four years, extending the operation of the Agilent Measurement Suite (AMS) in White City Innovation District.

Since opening in 2019, the AMS has supported more than 1,200 users from academia and industry, providing access to advanced analytical science tools and hands-on training that help turn ambitious ideas into breakthrough research, new technologies and growing businesses.

Located in White City Campus, the facility has played a significant role in the development of WestTech London, supporting projects in areas including antimicrobial resistance, drug discovery, sustainable chemistry and energy storage, while contributing to more than £200 million in research funding and investment.

Key initiatives that have benefited from the AMS include the Fleming Initiative, which is harnessing £100 million from philanthropists and partners such as GSK to tackle antimicrobial resistance, the Bezos Centre for Sustainable Protein, Centres for Doctoral Training in chemical biology and next-generation chemistry, and the AI for Chemistry hub.

The AMS has also supported White City Innovation District startups such as cell culture innovator Multus, energy storage spinout Certain Energy, and AI-driven chemical process company SOLVE Chemistry.

“When you combine technical capabilities far beyond a typical academic lab with the deep expertise and curiosity of a world top‑ten university, you get both groundbreaking research and a world-changing innovation ecosystem. With Agilent as a driving force in the rapid growth of WestTech London, I’m excited to see what we can achieve next.”
